Breaking: Former PDP national chairman defects to APC, to be received by Oyegun
A former national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Senator Ali Modu Sheriff is set to defect to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) alongside his supporters. Sheriff was a factional chairman of PDP.
A former national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Senator Ali Modu Sheriff is set to defect to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) alongside his supporters.
Sheriff was a factional chairman of the PDP before he was later removed by the Supreme Court.

According to report reaching NAIJ.com, Sheriff is expected to be at the APC secretariat today, Thursday, April 26.
He will be received by John Oyegun and other APC officials.
Dr. Cairo Ojougboh, who served as deputy national chairman of the PDP while Sheriff was chairman was at the APC national secretariat in preparation for the defection.
Meanwhile, the APC said that President Muhammadu Buhari’s reported support for Adams Oshiomhole as chairman of the party is not binding.
Premium Times reports that this was reiterated by the national publicity secretary of the party, Bolaji Abdullahi, on Wednesday, April 25.
He said: “What we were told at the meeting was that he was asked who he wanted and he told them his preference which has nothing to do with the meeting today.”
He also said they were reviewing the time table of the national convention because some governors noted that it was too close.
