Was Sinclair’s TV news promo meant as satire?

In a 1973 dystopian science fiction film, there was this healthy, rationed protein food product, called Soylent Green, which was distributed to an unsuspecting and gullible populace, but in actuality it was made of human beings! While Disney and other such friendly Borgish propagandists have been feeding us their version of Soylent Green for many years now, Sinclair TV stations apparently decided to show us, in a very dramatic video mash-up, what exactly mindless ingestion of “the new! improved! fast-acting! Soylent Green” actually looks, sounds and tastes like! I regard this as brilliant satire done in the genre of Jonathan Swift’s 1729 “A Modest Proposal.”
